What is the Victorian Energy Upgrades program?
VEU for short, the Victorian Energy Upgrades program is a rebate scheme from the Victorian government which allows licensed heating and cooling installers like Oasis Air-Conditioning and Solar to replace old and inefficient gas and electric heaters with new split systems and split ducted units.
"Great, how much money can I get?"
It varies from job to job. Some real-life rebates we have done recently include the removal of an old gas ducted system with a replacement Daikin ducted system where the customer in Emerald received a rebate of $3800.
A few other real-life examples of jobs we've done over the past few months include:
Replacing a ducted gas unit with a large split system in Boronia - $1500 in rebates
Replacing an electric wall heater with a Daikin split system in Launching Place - $1300 in rebates
Replacing a gas wall heater with a Daikin split system in Kallista - $1000 in rebates
As you can see the rebates for the VEU program vary a bit from job to job. Generally speaking, the larger the system you replace, the bigger the rebate!
"How do I qualify?"
To qualify is simple - Every home is eligible, even homes which are rented out. That's it. (Yes, really!)
"How long do I have to wait to get my money back?"
You don't have to wait even one second. We provide the rebate as a discount directly to your job, we take care of all of the paperwork and get paid a few weeks later from the rebate.
"Does this work for all air-conditioners?"
No, it doesn't. Air-conditioner manufacturers need to make sure their units meet the minimum standards for efficiency set out by the VEU program. This means that many of the cheaper brands don't qualify for any rebates.
The good news here is that the more energy efficient a system is, the larger the rebate it can give you. Meaning you can get some of the highest quality and most energy efficient systems cheaper than some of the more "budget friendly" systems out there.
"What do I need to do?"
First you'll need to get us out to your property to give you a free in-person measure and quote to find a suitable solution and unit for you.
On the day of installation there will be some paperwork for you to read through and sign, which takes about 5-10 minutes.
